Some yards just have good bones - a dry creek bed, boulders, ornamental grasses, thoughtful plantings. But even the most well-designed low-water landscape needs regular attention to stay looking intentional rather than neglected. That's exactly where routine maintenance makes all the difference.

Out back, the dry creek bed stays defined and clean, with ornamental grasses trimmed and sitting neatly against the dark fence. The red maple is showing off its fall color right now, and it's the kind of detail that really pops when everything around it is well kept. Boulder placement, gravel surfaces, low-growing shrubs - it all reads sharp because we're keeping up with it consistently.

Out front, the tall feather grasses are golden and full, the low-water plantings are tidy, and the little bistro seating area looks like somewhere you'd actually want to sit. That's the goal with maintenance - not just keeping things alive, but keeping the whole space feeling cared for. A yard that looks good from the street matters, and so does one that feels good to spend time in.

This is what regular landscape maintenance does over time. It's not one big dramatic visit - it's showing up consistently, knowing what needs attention and when, and understanding how each plant behaves through the seasons. A xeriscape-style yard like this one can look effortless, but that look doesn't happen on its own.
